August 4, 2007; Kuching kicked off its month-long annual festival with a grand parade with the participation of even foreign students and Sabahans, giving both an international and national flavour.

More than 2,500 people in flamboyant costumes and props in 43 contingents made up the parade which started at Jubilee Ground in Padungan and ended at Padang Merdeka — to mark the City’s month long festival.

They represented government departments and agencies, companies, non-governmental organisations, schools and higher learning institutions in the city.
